4TROOPS
This year’s Saturday Night concert at the Grand Sierra Resort will feature four special guests who will be opening for The Al Mckay Allstars and this group has gained much national attention lately.
A new musical group, called 4TROOPS, consists of four former soldiers who served in either Iraq or Afghanistan. This talented quartet will sing in front of fans, paying homage to their fellow service men and women. The group has already made an appearance on "Good Morning America" and has visited bases around the country, including Fort Hood, Fort Sam Houston and Fort Bragg, so they aren’t strangers to big crowds. As their name suggests, the four singers are hoping to sell their new album and tour the country to raise money and awareness for the troops. "It’s very rewarding for all of us. Now we’re on the other side as civilians, we want to continue to recognize the job that these servicemen and women are doing for the country. We’re just saying thank you," said Staff Sgt. (Ret.) Ron Henry, who’s in the foursome.
This group was hand-picked for 4Troops, who have since created an album that features well-known patriotic favorites, like "Battle Hymn of the Republic", "Grand Old Flag" and "America the Beautiful", plus country and pop songs like "Bless the Broken Road" and "Dance with my Father."
